Book 115 of 500!

This book was Starring Sally J. Freedman As Herfself by Judy Blume. Another quick read! I think my friend Melissa would have liked this book, if she hadn’t already read it. This was just a really nice story, but surprisingly happened right after WW2, and she was Jewish so there was actually mention of the Holocaust in this book, although I didn’t even know it!

Book 114 of 500!

This book was The Boy Who Dared: A Novel based on the true story of a Hitler Youth. I read this book in one day! Obviously I loved it because it took place during the Holocaust, but it was different from most of the books I’ve read before because it was about a young German boy growing up during this time, and how he had to join the Hitler Youth but unlike most Germans he didn’t agree with what Hitler was doing to the Jews. And unlike most people during this time he actually tried to do something about it! I loved this story, because it was true and I just wish things had ended differently for him.

Book 113 of 500!

This book was called Shopaholic & Baby by Sophie Kinsella. It was really good and a really fast read. It was fun reading about all her antics while pregnant before having a baby, it reminded me of when I was pregnant. It took place in England though and surprised me how many words they use there that are different from our English!

Book 112 of 500!

My dad made me read this book because he is obsessed with the show Two and a half Men. It was called So That Happened: A Memoir by Jon Cryer. Surprisingly it was a really good book and a really fast read! It was super interesting, kept me wanting more and very funny! I love books like this!

Books 107, 108, 109, 110 and 111 out of 500!!!

These books are all lumped together because they are all from the same series:

107 – The Fate of Ten, 108 – United As One, 109 – I am Number Four: The Lost Files: Last Defense, 110 – I Am Number Four: The Lost Files: Legacies Reborn, 111 – I Am Number Four: The Lost Files: Hunt for the Garde.

These books were great like always! Unfortunately, I’m very sad because this was it in the series, after 4 years of reading these books and waiting impatiently for the new ones to come out, it finally ended. It’s so depressing. I totally recommend this whole series to anyone! Thanks to my mom for introducing this to my dad and I, I’m sorry she never got to read them all. I love that my dad read them all because he does not read! But he loved it just as much as I did! We just wish they had made more movies, because only the first book was ever made into a movie!

Books 105 and 106 out of 500!

I’m putting these 2 books in one post because they are from the same series. They are called I Am Number Four: The Lost Files: The Guard and I Am Number Four: The Lost Files: The Navigator! 2 more very good books from dad’s and my favorite book series! Another longer book just came out, so can’t wait to read that one soon!!

Book 104 of 500!!

This book was called Jewball by Neal Pollack. It was kind of a strange book, but also good. I’m sure I got it on my Kindle because I thought it was a Holocaust book. The story took place during the Holocaust but in the US. It was about an all Jewish professional basketball team in New York. There was an organization of Germans who were trying to do in the US what Hitler was doing in Germany, called the Bund. It was pretty interesting. Turns out at the end of the book it said that the majority of what happened in the book was actually true. So in the end, I did enjoy this book!

Grand Junction, Colorado trip!! – 2013 – Part 1

First of all I can’t believe that the trip dad and I took to Grand Junction, CO was almost 2 years ago! But I also can’t believe that this is how far behind I am on this blog! It’s so frustrating, where does the time go?! Anyways, let’s hope I can even remember what these pictures are from!!!!

While driving there dad and I stopped at a KOA campground in Nebraska, it was where my parents had stayed once before and my dad really wanted to go again. Dad and I found a birds nest at the campground.

2013-06-06 17.42.24The next day while driving thru the mountains we stopped at the coolest amusement park EVER! It was called Glenwood Caverns and it was on top of the mountains! You had to take a thing to get up to the top, and then the rides were hanging off the mountain, and going up the side! It was seriously the coolest thing ever!!

We arrived in Grand Junction and set up our RV in my brother’s yard. The next day we went up to where the chipmunks are. Randy & Amanda had taken Darrell and I there a few years earlier to feed the chipmunks and it was so much fun, I really wanted my dad to experience it.

Book 103 of 500!

This book was I Am Number Four: The Lost Files: The Fugitive by Pittacus Lore. It was just another book in the series my dad and I read. (That my mom got us hooked on!) These lost files books are just very short, but they are so exciting. I never want the books to end, but they always do. I can’t wait for the next full size book in this series. I really want to know how the whole thing ends, but at the same time, once I know, that means the series will be over…..

Book 102 of 500!

Book 102 was called A Coal Miner’s Family at Mooseheart by Ernest L. Rhodes. It was sort of a hard book to get into, the writing was kind of strange, but I enjoyed it because I really love Moosheart. My dad has been a member of the Moose for my whole life. I love getting to visit Mooseheart, so I thought it was interesting reading about it from years ago before I was even born.

Book 101 of 500!

Book 101 was called The Missing by Beverly Lewis. It’s an Amish book and I LOVE all books about the Amish, or Amish stories. Beverly Lewis is by far my favorite Amish writer! This book was fantastic, like they all are! There was only 1 problem! It turned out it was book 2 of 3!!! I don’t have book 1 or 3, and now I read the 2nd one first…… Oh well, it was still a great story!

These photos are going to be out of order from my normal. But I have them and I need to get them posted so I can get them off my computer! So here they are!!!

Darrell made this play pen with this nice floor for Dutch when he was still here, Dutchess uses it now, except we had to turn it upside down because she ate the linoleum!

2013-06-03 08.02.29Around Christmas time last year dad and I went to Fischer Farm in Bensenville for their Christmas open house!

Book 100 of 500!

OH MY GOSH! I finally hit a milestone in this thing I’ve been trying to do! 100 books! This definitely makes me feel good because I’ve really been feeling like I am NEVER going to make 500 books by the time I’m 50, especially with a baby coming now…… Book 100 was The Revenge of Seven by Pittacus Lore. This was one of the real books in the series which means it was much longer, like  regular book! It is so much better when they are longer, because then it doesn’t end as quickly! It’s really hard to say much on here about these books, because if you don’t know the series than it’s REALLY hard to explain! So all I can say is I definitely recommend this series to everyone!!

Book 99 of 500!

This book was I Am Number Four: The Lost Files: Five’s Betrayal by Pittacus Lore. This next installation of the Number Four series was definitely very interesting, and gave me a lot more information! I can’t believe how with every book I just get sucked in deeper and deeper! I am going to be so depressed when this series ends! I have to say it again, THANK YOU MOM for introducing this series to my dad and me!!!
